Meteorologist Tucker Antico joined the Boston 25 weather team in June 2023. A native of the South Shore, Tucker grew up in Cohasset and is thrilled to forecast weather in the place he calls home!
Tucker’s passion for meteorology has been lifelong. It all started with the weather beacon atop the Old Hancock Tower in downtown Boston. Beginning at just two years old, he would recite the forecast to his family as he gazed at the beacon from their downtown apartment.
After stops at Inly School and Boston College High School, Tucker went on to Pennsylvania State University to pursue his degree. He was president of the storm chase team during his time there and considers storm chasing one of his favorite hobbies! Tucker graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Meteorology and a concentration in weather risk management. He also holds a minor in Energy Business & Finance.
Tucker went on to begin his career at WEAU in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. During his time in the Badger State, he covered severe storms and harsh winters. He recalls many frigid days with snow-covered ground and temperatures more than 20 degrees below zero! After two years there, he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he worked at FOX59. While in the Hoosier State, Tucker covered frequent severe weather events. He’ll never forget the tornado outbreak of March 2023, which spawned nearly two dozen tornadoes statewide and is remembered as the fifth largest outbreak in state history. He also earned the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal during his time there.
As an avid sports fan, you’ll often find Tucker watching a game when he’s not forecasting (or chasing) the next big storm. Hockey has long been his favorite to watch and play, though he considers baseball and football favorites as well. As an outdoors person returning from the Midwest, he’s missed the ocean and is very excited to be back on the water too!
