HEAT, HUMIDITY & THUNDERSTORMS
Get set for another sweltering day. A Heat Advisory continues through 8 PM for highs in the lower 90s and “feels-like” temperatures up to 100 degrees inland. The coast will be a little cooler in the 80s thanks to an onshore breeze, and very sticky.
Isolated downpours and thunderstorms are possible at times today, though most of the time any one town or city will be dry. In particular, watch out for a pop up downpour on the sea breeze in eastern MA this afternoon. The strongest storms will develop in western MA ahead of a cold front. Since it passes across our area tonight, those storms should weaken and fade as they progress eastward across the state.
WEEKEND CHANGES
Tonight’s cold front will not deliver a temperature drop! Rather, it will bring less humid air into the region. Dew points in the 70s Friday felt tropical. Dew points in the 50s this weekend will be more comfortable. It’s more of a “dry heat” this weekend with highs still around 90 degrees.
Saturday will be sunny with a very high UV Index. Use lots of sunscreen to avoid burning.
Sunday will feature some thickening clouds. Dry weather will last through the day. A front will bring through some overnight showers that look to end very early Monday morning.
