Boston 25 Weather

Rain and snow on radar

RAINY FRIDAY WITH A WINTRY FINISH

Rain will overspread the area mid morning through noon from south to north. Plan on showers all afternoon and evening. With temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s across southern New England, we’re expecting roads to be wet all day. Conditions will cool at night and turn to snowy and slushy, especially north of the Mass Pike. Be ready for 1-3″ snow in parts of northern MA and southern NH. It may not stick well along and south of the Pike where a coating is the mostly likely outcome.

COLD WEEKEND AND OUR NEXT STORM SYSTEM

We will likely have some lingering snow showers in eastern and southern MA Saturday morning. Be careful for slippery roads where moisture freezes and even a fresh coating of snow in eastern MA. In fact, ocean effect clouds and snow showers may last through the afternoon on Cape Cod. Inland towns will clear out with chilly sunshine Saturday afternoon.

Sunday will start cold and clear ahead of increasing clouds. We’re tracking a quick batch of snow Sunday night. Temperatures will actually warm overnight, which will likely cause a change to snow in some towns. Accumulation looks minor with a coating-2″ the most probable outcome, 3″ at most in southern New England.
