TUESDAY CHILL
It’s going to be a chilly and dry day. Highs will reach the low to mid 30s under mostly cloudy skies.
An ocean storm will track well to our south overnight. Boston, Worcester, and most of the region will remain dry. The South Coast and Cape Cod may see a coating. Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard have the best chance for a coating-1″.
WEDNESDAY PAUSE
Most of Wednesday will run cloudy and dry. Onshore wind will probably produce occasional flurries, but no additional accumulation is expected until the overnight.
THURSDAY MIX
Snow will actually develop late Wednesday evening and should spread across southern New England by midnight. A widespread 1-3″ of accumulation is expected before a flip to rain and freezing rain. That change should happen by 7 AM in the greater Boston area. The snow will quickly turn to slush. Keep in mind, the WEATHER ALERT is for slick travel during this transition from south to north. In fact, the Worcester Hills, northern MA and southern NH could see freezing rain for a period late morning. It should be above freezing everywhere by noon. Afternoon showers will dwindle as weather conditions improve.
Valentine’s Day is going to be cold and dry, but keep your eyes on the weekend for another storm!
