We’re continuing to track a slow-moving nor’easter that will be with us through late Monday night. That means we’re not done with the rain, wind or coastal impacts just yet. So lets break down what’s still ahead.
HEAVY RAIN
Rain continues from tonight into tomorrow morning, so we are going to kick off the work week on a soggy note. I think we will see around another inch of rain for most of Massachusetts, locally higher for some. We still have a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect up until midnight tomorrow night, with up to a half food of inundation above ground level in low lying areas. A Flood Watch will be in effect through Monday night for the potential of flooded streets and streams when repeated downpours pass through some communities. Showers will taper off around sunrise Tuesday.
STRONG WIND GUSTS
The worst of the wind is behind us, but there may be some additional gusts in excess of 40 mph and isolated power outages. Keep in mind, trees are more vulnerable given all the leaves this time of year and the saturated soil from recent rainfall. Gusts lower to 20-35 mph for tonight and Monday.
SLOW IMPROVEMENTS
Monday will still be a washout but rain and wind will trend a little lighter still. The nor’easter will move out Tuesday with the risk for an early morning shower then dry, cloudy conditions expected during the day.
The pattern will improve significantly Wednesday with more sunshine and highs in the 70s through the end of the week!
