On your radar: Multiple chances for snow in Massachusetts this week

DEDHAM, Mass. — More than a half foot of snow fell overnight in many Massachusetts communities, but keep the shovel handy because there will be multiple chances for additional snowfall this week.

The Boston 25 Weather team is tracking the possibility of more snow on Wednesday, Thursday, and over the weekend.

We’ll be back to sunshine on Monday and Tuesday, however, morning temps will drop into the teens with afternoon highs hovering around freezing.

Wednesday morning will bring the chance for light snow south of the Massachusetts Turnpike.

“We have a storm system tracking to our south...The potential is there for getting lightly clipped by a bit of light snow on Wednesday morning,” Spear said in her Sunday forecast.

Spear said our next WEATHER ALERT is for Thursday due to the potential for snow and freezing rain, possibly causing a slippery morning commute.

The current storm track has a change to rain in the afternoon, but the track can easily shift, Spear noted.

“Keep in mind, if this suddenly starts tracking a little further south and we got more cold air dipping down, it could be more of a snow situation,” Spear said.

Spear said that late Saturday will also bring the chance for another round of light snow.

At this time, it’s too early to release projected snow totals and it’ll be important to check back with the Boston 25 Weather team as these potential storms develop.
