REVERE, Mass. — Some women at the Jack Satter House, a senior living facility in Revere, are out to prove you’re never too old to try something new.
To drive that message home, they created “Spectacular Seniors 2025″.
It’s a calendar featuring pictures of themselves without a whole lot of clothes on.
“Well at first, I was like, my god, you want me? Because I’m 91 years old.”
You could say modeling is a late-career move for Phyliss Snyder.
The great-grandmother is Miss November.
“I was honored to be chosen. It took time to get adjusted to doing it and the nudie part didn’t bother me because I knew it would be in good taste.”
Residents of the facility, which is run by Hebrew Senior Life, peeled of their cardigans to raise money for the Jack Satter House Tenant’s Association.
Rabbi Lior Nevo is the facility’s community rabbi and interfaith chaplain. She prompted the women to go buff.
“I love everything about this idea because we’re celebrating the human body and celebrating the aging body. Seeing women in different stages of life is something we don’t often get to see.”
Roxanne Aiello is the president of the tenant’s association.
She’s also Miss June.
“It shows that I’m young at heart. I might be 80 years old, but I don’t feel it,” said the Revere native. “When I look at the picture, I say to myself ‘Roxanne, you did a good job, you look pretty good.’”
She says the models mostly wore tank tops and rolled them down a bit.
Miss February is holding large bingo cards and is wearing a big smile.
Miss May is watering plants while being strategically covered by the leaves.
While some women at the facility balked at being in the calendar, Aiello feels it was an empowering experience.
Miss January, otherwise known as 76-year-old Donna Stahl, feels the same way.
She looks like she’s having a celebratory toast in a hot tub.
“Just be proud of who you are. It doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, it’s your heart. Just go for it. You’re not hurting anyone.”
“Yeah, I’d do it again, even at 92,” added Snyder.
The women are already considering what they could do for 2026.
“What would I really love? Either down at the beach or celebrating some kind of holiday. Maybe a little risqué, while I can still do that,” said Snyder with a laugh.
The tenant’s association hopes to sell 300 calendars for $15 each.
The proceeds will cover transportation costs for outings.
They can be obtained with PayPal or by sending a check to:
