DEDHAM, Mass. — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of Massachusetts due to a storm that would dump up to 8 inches of snow across Massachusetts this weekend.
The winter storm warning is in effect for Franklin, Worcester, Middlesex, Essex, Hampshire, Hampden, Norfolk, Bristol, Plymouth, and Berkshire counties from 7 p.m. on Saturday through 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The worst of the snow will fall between midnight and 6 a.m., so if you’re out late, stay prepared for slippery roads, said the Boston 25 Weather team.
“I’m putting a range of 4 to 8 inches, and this is for a good portion of Massachusetts,” said Meterlogist Vicki Graf in her morning forecast.
Graf also pointed out that this is a range and that some areas will see 5 to 6 and others could see 7 to 8.
“I wouldn’t rule out a couple of spots to see a little more than 8 inches especially North of the Boston area,” Graf said.
This snowstorm should wrap up by late Sunday morning or noon with no impact on Sunday night Super Bowl plans.
When you wake up Sunday morning, be prepared to deal with some heavy, wet snow. For the best results, get out there early to shovel and clear your sidewalks. The snow will be heavier to manage if it sits too long.
No changes to the snow map from overnight. We are still looking at 4-8" of snow across a good portion of New England overnight. Nantucket will see a bit less, under 3". pic.twitter.com/F1hOUb1Pw4

There is also a “good chance” we see more snow “on at least one, if not two days next week,” according to Meteorologist Tucker Antico.
