CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Officials have identified the man killed in a late-night shooting in Cambridge Monday night.

Angel Nieves, 21, of Springfield was shot on Clifton Street just before 11:30 p.m. Monday. Nieves, who was identified as the victim by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan Tuesday, was taken to Mount Auburn to be treated for several serious gunshot wounds.

Nieves was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

No arrests have been announced but the DA’s office says an initial investigation indicates it was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.

Video captured on Clifton Street around midnight shows several officers collecting evidence and investigating.

Video also shows evidence markers on the road, a jacket, and other scattered items.

The shooting is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Cambridge Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
