DEDHAM, Mass. — Thousands of homes and businesses in Massachusetts are without power as strong wind gusts lash the region on Tuesday.
As of 2 p.m., there were nearly 7,000 power outages reported across the Bay State, according to the MEMA outage tracker.
The majority of the power outages were centered in central and eastern Massachusetts.
Wind gusts in Massachusetts were forecast to gust 35-50 mph on Tuesday afternoon.
Many communities reported down trees and wires, including in Billerica. Winthrop officials reported power outages at the Town Hall and library.
Authorities in Quincy and Weymouth were investigating whether wind played a role in construction accidents.
There were also nearly 50 flight delays at Logan Airport in Boston, according to FlightAware.
