LYNN, Mass. — In Lynn, police are investigating the death of a Lynn sub shop owner as a homicide.
On Monday night, Ilias Mavros was found dead in his Stanwood Street home.
Mavros was the owner of Crazy Buzzy’s Roast Beef on the Lynnway.
Most people knew Ilias Mavros as Lou.
On Monday morning, when Lou didn’t come to work, there was great concern for him
George Fiskatoris’ father went to Lou’s house where he made the gruesome discovery.
“My dad found him. He was traumatized. My dad is a pretty stoic guy. When he saw a guy he hung out with and got to know, it’s his brother-in-law, he was very shocked, I got the call shortly after,” Fiskatoris told me.
An autopsy is still pending, but this case is being investigated as a homicide.
It appears to investigators Lou Mavros could have died from blunt force trauma.
I’m told by a source there was no obvious sign of forced entry into the house, but nothing is being ruled out at this point.
Over at Crazy Buzzy’s, Lou’s family is keeping the sub shop open as a tribute to him.
They can’t imagine why anyone would violently take Lou’s life.
“Who could possibly do something like this to him?” I asked.
“I don’t know, but I have a feeling that it’s someone that’s not random, I’ll just leave it at that. I can’t wait to find out who it is.”
