Brockton, Mass. — A Taunton woman is facing up to 3 years in state prison for her involvement in a counterfeit coupon operation that nearly stole $27,000 in discounts.
Jacqueline White, 42, pleaded guilty on Thursday to one count of Larceny by False Pretense under a Single Scheme.
According to investigators, White, and co-defendant Crystal Travis, had stolen approximately $26,547 from numerous Stop and Shop’s from March 10, 2023, through June 2, 2023.
Those stores varied from Quincy, Weymouth, Raynham, Plainville, Whitman, Abington, Pembroke, Norwell, Hingham, North Dartmouth, New Bedford, Sandwich, Brockton, East Providence, R.I. and Pawtucket, R.I.
White and Travis allegedly used social media sites and apps like Facebook and Dropbox to purchase counterfeit coupons and use those to buy products.
Both suspects were charged after a lengthy investigation by the Hingham and Abington Police Departments.
White is to be sentenced to 2-3 years in state prison and suspended for 3 years, while Travis was given a continuance without a finding in June 2024.
