One person rescued from burning home in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — One person was rescued from a burning home in Cambridge early Sunday morning.

According to Cambridge Fire, just before midnight, crews were called to a second-alarm fire at a large multi-family home on Kirkland Street.

While battling the flames, one person was rescued from a third-floor window. An unconscious cat was also rescued by firefighters and was given oxygen.

The fire was quickly contained and extinguished and several people have been displaced from apartments.

45 firefighters fought the fire in 15-degree temperatures with a 1-degree wind chill.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
