BARTLETT, N.H. — An investigation is underway after a person was injured when a chair lift fell at the Attitash Mountain Resort.

The incident occurred around 12:15 PM on Saturday when first responders were dispatched to reports of a chairlift dislodging, and then falling to the ground with a person on the chair.

Tramway inspectors determined that the chairlift and person fell approximately 20 feet.

The person was conscious and aware after the fall and was assisted by Ski Patrol to be transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Initial investigations believe that the chairlift had fallen due to a mechanical issue from one of the cables. The manufacturer of the lift has been contacted and will aid in the investigation.

No other injuries were reported and the resort will be closed while the investigation continues.
