One person dead, one man arrested following early morning Brockton fatal stabbing

Brockton, Mass. — One man has been arrested and placed into custody following a fatal stabbing that occurred in Brockton earlier Saturday morning, Plymouth County D.A. announced.

Officers were dispatched to 17 Foster Street after receiving a call around 2 A.M. Saturday to reports of a man being stabbed.

Upon arrival, Brockton police and EMS located a man, identified as 19-year-old Kyre Ambrose, suffering from multiple stab wounds.

A good samaritan transported Ambrose to the hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries.

Members of Brockton and Massachusetts State Police conducted an investigation. After watching surveillance footage, they developed probable cause to arrest 18-year-old Jayden Fernandez.

Fernandez was being treated for a hand injury at Newton Wellesley Hospital when he was taken into custody.

Fernandez is expected to be arraigned at Brockton District Court on Monday on murder charges.

An investigation is still ongoing.
