WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — A 28-year-old Raynham motorcyclist was held without bail on Monday after a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured his passenger in West Bridgewater, police said.

Zachary Adomaitis was arraigned in Brockton District Court following his arrest on Sunday in connection with the hit-and-run crash in West Bridgewater on Friday, West Bridgewater Police Chief Timothy Nixon said in a statement on Monday.

Adomaitis is charged with leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license, reckless driving, possessing a Class B drug, attaching wrong plates to conceal identity, uninsured motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, unregistered motor vehicle, and motorcycle passenger violation, no helmet.

At approximately 2:10 p.m. Friday, West Bridgewater Police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of North Main and Matfield streets.

A preliminary investigation found that a motorcycle was traveling erratically and passing vehicles on North Main Street when it collided with a truck that was exiting Matfield Street, Nixon said.

A passenger on the motorcycle suffered significant injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital in serious condition, Nixon said. The passenger’s condition was not known on Monday.

Police said the motorcyclist, later identified as Adomaitis, immediately left the scene of the crash and initially could not be located.

On Sunday, West Bridgewater Officer Stefano D’Emilia arrested Adomaitis, who also had a warrant for his arrest out of Brockton District Court, Nixon said. Adomaitis was found to be in possession of cocaine.
