NORTH READING, Mass. — Two people were hospitalized after at least half a dozen cars caught fire in a parking lot on Thursday morning.
North Reading fire officials say they responded to the Amazon Robotics facility on Riverpark Drive at 10:53 a.m. for a report of multiple cars on fire in the lot.
Arriving firefighters found the flames spreading to different vehicles and began an aggressive attack.
Officials say two people were transported to an area hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
The fire, which was contained around 11:10 a.m., damaged at least six cars, according to authorities.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Wilmington Fire provided mutual aid at the scene and Reading and Middleton Fire Departments provided station coverage.
