BOSTON — Service on the MBTA’s Orange Line was temporarily suspended Monday afternoon after a person got stuck under a train at North Station in Boston, officials said.
Deputy Boston Fire Chief James Greene said firefighters conducted a technical rescue, working through “extremely tight conditions” to safely extricate the person.
The person was conscious when Boston EMS transported them from the scene for treatment, according to Greene. There was no word on the extent of their injuries.

The rescue operation prompted the MBTA to suspend Orange Line service between Wellington and Bay Bay stations for about two hours.
Shuttle buses were deployed between Wellington and Haymarket stations during that time, the MBTA said.
Service was restored along the Orange Line around 2:30 p.m.
There were no additional details immediately available.
Transit police are investigating the incident.
