DEDHAM, Mass. — Cats who underwent corrective eye surgery at ARL’s Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center have forged an inseparable bond, according to officials.
The duo is now looking for a new home together.
Meet Norma, a 6-year-old Siamese, and Cream Soda, a 3-year-old Tabby.
They were transported to the Animal Rescue League of Boston in December and were both diagnosed with entropion; a condition where the eyelid is inverted, causing painful irritation and potentially blindness.
The ARL’s medicine team performed multiple surgeries on the cats to correct the condition.
As the healing process commenced, both Norma and Cream Soda were placed in the same kennel and began comforting each other. The duo would constantly curl up together and provide strength and support for one another when medications were applied, according to officials.
The post-surgery recovery lasted for weeks, and Norma and Cream Soda’s bond only grew stronger. The ARL decided due to this strong bond, the pair needed to be homed together.
Norma and Cream Soda are currently available for adoption and any interested parties are encouraged to visit ARL’s Dedham location.
