Lighthouse Road in Scituate floods as massive waves crash against coast following storm

SCITUATE, Mass. – A portion of Lighthouse Road in Scituate was flooded Wednesday morning as the nor’easter moved out.

Tuesday’s storm dumped more than two feet of snow in some areas and lead to widespread power outages in some communities.

In coastal towns like Scituate, strong winds and flooding were the concerns.

High tide hit at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, as eight 10-foot waves crashed off the shore.

A two to three-foot storm surge was expected, which could potentially cause some minor beach erosion and pockets of flooding, but nothing too significant thanks to the direction of the wind and the current moon phase.

Even as the gusty winds continued, there were no reported power outages in Scituate Wednesday morning.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
