COHASSET, Mass. — A Hull man was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly carrying multiple loaded guns in his truck.
20-year-old Nathan G. Sweeney is charged with unlawful carrying of a loaded handgun, improper storage of a firearm, and improper storage of ammunition.
Cohasset Police say they received a 911 call around 3:30 a.m. for a possible domestic issue. The caller told officers a Dodge Ram pickup truck had been following him and his female passenger for about 30 minutes.
The caller claimed the driver of the truck was the boyfriend of his female passenger, and that the boyfriend was armed with guns.
Officers Kevin Lynch, Brendan Skerry, and Sergeant Harrison Schmidt intercepted the truck on Main Street.
They identified the driver as Sweeney after a motor vehicle stop near Cohasset Common.
According to investigators, the officers found a loaded 9mm handgun along with a 12-gauge shotgun, another gun, and ammunition in the vehicle. Police say Sweeney is not licensed to carry a pistol.
Following his arrest, Sweeney was arraigned in Quincy District Court on Friday morning.
