Fall River man wins $1M prize on scratch ticket, second $1M winning ticket sold in Brockton

FALL RIVER, Mass. — A Fall River man has won a $1 million prize on a scratch ticket, and a local trust has claimed a second $1 million lottery prize won a ticket sold in Brockton.

Tiberio Silva of Fall River is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” instant ticket game.

Silva chose to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes.

He purchased his winning ticket at Kam’s Food Mart, 376 2nd St. in Fall River.

Also, Happy New Year Trust of Quincy has claimed a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “777″ instant ticket game.

The trust, represented by trustee David Spillane, also opted to receive its prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes.

The winning ticket was purchased at Bud’s Liquor & Convenience, 532 North Quincy St. in Brockton.

Kam’s Food Mart and Bud’s Liquor & Convenience will each receive a $10,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
