78-year-old woman struck and killed by flatbed truck in Lynn, DA says

LYNN, Mass. — Authorities are investigating after a woman was hit and killed by a vehicle Friday morning.

According to Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker, a 2014 Dodge flatbed truck collided with a 78-year-old woman around 6:20 a.m. near 63 North Common Street.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is not being released at this time.

The DA’s office did not say if the driver of the truck is facing any charges.

The crash remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, MSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, and Lynn Police.

No further information was immediately available.
