Driver rescued from flood waters in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. — Wednesday torrential winds and rains brought flood waters to many parts of the Bay State, including the City of Champions.

On Westgate Drive in Brockton, a driver had to be rescued by firefighters from a flashflood.

Brockton fire officials say the area is notorious for flooding during heavy rains.

There were no reports of any injuries.

This was not the first water rescue that was performed in the city on Wednesday.

Earlier in the afternoon, crews braved stormy conditions to save an overdose victim.

Pictures showed rescuers up to their wastes in floodwaters, pulling the man to safety.
