Charlestown shooting victim identified as death investigation continues

BOSTON — A man who was fatally shot in Charlestown Saturday night has been identified, Boston police say.

Around 10:33 p.m.., police and EMS were dispatched to 140 Main Street to reports of a person struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, first responders located an adult male lying on the ground in the parking lot.

The man has now been identified as 46-year-old Joseph Donahue of Charlestown.

Further investigation revealed Donahue had been shot. EMS pronounced Donahue dead on the scene.

The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
