SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Editor’s note: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that the Ground Round is open. Renovations for the restaurant are still underway.
A once-popular casual dining restaurant chain that left the Bay State more than 20 years ago will soon be back in business in Massachusetts.
The Ground Round at 271 Grafton Street in Shrewsbury is on the home stretch of their renovations and is getting closer to an official opening date.
This Ground Round location includes a bar area and the eatery will serve American-style comfort food.
The restaurant chain was founded in Shrewsbury in 1969 before it filed for bankruptcy in 2004.
There are currently four Ground Round locations in the United States, one in Ohio and three in North Dakota.
