BOSTON — One person was taken into custody Monday morning following an hourslong SWAT standoff at a home in Boston, authorities said.
The standoff unfolded at a home on Hopewell Road off Osceola Street in the city’s Hyde Park neighborhood, according to the Boston Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the area around 3:34 a.m. for a report of a barricaded suspect.
The suspect, whose name hasn’t been released, fired a gun during the standoff but not an officer, according to police.
In an update shared just before 9:30 a.m., police said the suspect surrendered to officers after hours of negotiating.
There were no reported injuries during the standoff.
It wasn’t immediately clear what charges the suspect will face.
Detectives are working to obtain a search warrant for the home.
Boston police urged the public to avoid the area during the standoff.
An investigation is ongoing.
