Boston Mayor Michelle Wu welcomes 3rd child, a healthy baby girl, city says

BOSTON — Boston Mayor Michelle Wu gave birth to her third child on Monday afternoon.

Wu and her husband, Conor, welcomed Baby Mira Wu Pewarski, who checked in at 8 pounds, 4 ounces, and 20 inches, according to a city spokesperson.

Baby Mira, who arrived at about 2 p.m., is said to be in good health, just as mom is.

“Mom and baby are in good health, and the Mayor is in touch with her senior staff,” the spokesperson added. “Mayor Wu wishes to express her deepest gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and healthcare staff who made this possible for her family and who work every day to support so many families across the city.”

Mira is the little sister to the couple’s two boys, Blaise and Cass.

Wu, the first woman and first person of color to be elected Mayor of Boston, isn’t taking maternity leave and plans to return to work as quickly as possible.
