Serious multi-car crash shuts down Falmouth roadway

FALMOUTH, Mass. — Authorities shut down a roadway on Tuesday night following a serious multi-car collision.

Police say the crash occurred on Waquoit Highway and the roadway will be closed between Metoxit Road and Collins Road while crews investigate.

Officials did not say if anyone was injured or what may have caused the crash.

Pictures from the scene show three cars scattered across the street. One vehicle appeared to have heavy front end damage.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
