4 teens arrested in connection to weekend shooting in Brookline, police say

BROOKLINE, Mass. — Four teens are facing charges for their alleged involvement in a shooting over the weekend that injured a young Newton man.

According to Brookline Police:

  • A 17-year-old juvenile male from Roslindale is charged with four counts of armed assault to murder, unlawful possession of a large-capacity firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
  • A 16-year-old male from Brookline is charged with being an accessory after the fact, unlawful possession of a large-capacity firearm, improper storage, unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device, and unlawful possession of ammunition.
  • Thomas May, 18, of Brookline, is charged with being an accessory after the fact.
  • Guilherme Leal De Britto Pereira, 18, of Needham, is charged with being an accessory after the fact.

On Saturday, January 11, officers received multiple 911 calls around 1:25 a.m. about shots fired on New Terrace Road.

Responding officers found several spent shell casings, but no victims.

Investigators learned an 18-year-old male victim from Newton had walked into Brigham and Women’s Hospital Emergency Department with a gunshot wound. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Police say they confirmed with the victim his injuries sustained from the New Terrace Road incident. There was also a vehicle on the hospital premises with ballistic damage, according to authorities.

All four suspects were arrested Tuesday without incident.

An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
