LOWELL, Mass. — According to Superintendent Greg Hudon, Lowell police responded to a crash involving a child Thursday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 4 P.M. when officers were dispatched to the intersection of West Third and Coburn Street.
Once on the scene, police discovered a 2-year-old girl was lying on the street with serious injuries. The child was immediately transported to a nearby by Boston hospital for treatment to what is believed to be life-threatening injuries.
The operator of the vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with police.
Neighbors in the area say the girl was reportedly with her mother, who allegedly had an epileptic attack, and her brother.
