2022 Revere Beach Sand Sculpting Festival opens this weekend: Here’s everything you need to know

REVERE, Mass. — The world-famous Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival opens Friday, July 22, and runs through Sunday, July 24.

Organizers estimate that one million people will venture down the event boardwalk and take in the sculptures, beach, entertainment, and food over the three days.

Sculptors from around the world, and as close as Saugus, are taking part.

Sculptors have already begun crafting piles of sand into their works of art for display over the weekend.

Preparations for the 2022 Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival

Organizers say the quickest way to get to the festival is by taking the MBTA to the Revere Beach and Wonderland T stops.

If you are driving, MassDOT says only limited parking will be available at the MBTA Wonderland Garage.

Also - Revere Beach Boulevard will be closed between Eliot Circle to Chester Avenue in Revere on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival is presented by Revere Beach Partnership and organizers say it’s the largest free event in Massachusetts.

EVENT HOURS:

Friday: 10am – 10pm (7/22/2022)

Saturday: 10am – 10pm (7/23/2022)

Sunday: 10am – 8pm (7/24/2022)

There is also a fireworks show on Saturday night. Organizers say the 30-minute show will light up the night sky in the Boston area. The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. weather permitting.
