BOSTON — A 15-year-old boy arrested in connection with a Christmas week shooting that left an adult man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds has become the latest city teen to face serious criminal charges, police said Thursday.
The boy, who was not identified because he is a juvenile, was arrested at about 2 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Cummings Highway. Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and officers made the arrest.
The boy was wanted on a warrant issued out of Suffolk County Juvenile Court. He is facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, armed robbery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police said.
At about 12:18 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, officers responded to the area of Wilbert Road for a report of a person shot.
Boston Police advised responding officers that the victim had fled the scene in a vehicle and was on Blue Hill Avenue.
Officers were able to locate the vehicle and saw an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His condition was not known on Thursday.
Officers canvassed the area of the original call and found ballistic evidence on scene.
The boy, who is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court, is the latest city 15-year-old to face serious criminal charges.
The district attorney announced this week that a 15-year-old West Roxbury boy was ordered held without bail and two others are being sought in connection with a home invasion and armed robbery.
That boy, a West Roxbury teen who was also not identified because he is a juvenile, was held pending a dangerousness hearing on Jan. 10 after he was charged in Dorchester Juvenile Court, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden said.
Prosecutors allege that in November, the West Roxbury boy and two other males brandished a gun and knives and stole an iPhone and numerous, expensive clothing items from a male victim, including the $300 Spyder pants the victim was wearing.
Police are still searching for two other males involved in the incident, Hayden said.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
