The annual disintegration of Massachusetts roads is underway, thanks to frigid temperatures, frequent precipitation, and, every now and then, just enough warmth to force little cracks in the asphalt to widen.
Boston bottomed out between 15 and 20 degrees, but the wind -- gusting to near 40 miles per hour at times -- dragged down the perceived temperature to levels below zero.
Around 50 lawmakers just sent a letter to the Chair of the Department of Public Utilities, James Van Nostrand, demanding that something be done to lower gas prices .
