New England’s Unsolved: The murder of Wilson Alexander

BOSTON — Wilson Alexander was a young Boston man looking forward to a brighter future, when he was shot and killed in the Franklin Fields Housing Development.

Ten years later, Wilson’s murder remains unsolved. And so do two other shootings, one of them a murder, all committed by the same gun.

“I feel like my son is not resting, because he feels I’m not at peace,” Wilson’s mother, Paris Alston told me.

On July 31, 2011, Wilson was killed outside 40 Ames St. Three other young men were also hit, they survived.

“He was laying in the street when they found him, like he was nothing but trash,” Paris said.

A month before Wilson’s murder, a 4-year-old boy was shot in the back in the Harambe Playground, which is near Franklin Fields Development. Two men on dirt bikes opened fire at each other. Stray bullets struck the little boy and an adult, who was shot in the ankle.

Boston Police say the same gun that was used to shoot Wilson, was also used in the Harambe Playground shooting.

And, investigators say, the same gun was used again in October 2011, when Paula Jacobs was shot and killed standing outside her grandmother’s home in the Orchard Park Housing Development.

Surveillance video provided to New England’s Unsolved reveals a car stopping at an intersection near the shooting site, and two men firing into the small crowd where Paula was standing. Paula’s Mother, Melissa Vick, was with her daughter when she was shot.

“I saw a hole in her neck, and I just started screaming and crying,” Vick said. “Her last words were, ‘I got shot.’”

Three shootings, two murders, one gun. Wilson’s mother says she has had enough.

“It broke my heart that her mother had to go through something that I just went through,” Paris said. “The person used the same gun to kill my child. And then turned around and used it to kill somebody else’s child. They are still walking free.”
