Polar Park welcomes dog-lovers and trick-or-treaters on Sunday

WORCESTER, Mass. — If you’re looking for something to do with the family Sunday, look no further than Polar Park.

The ballpark is hosting the second annual DogFest New England fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

The event celebrates and raises money for Canine Companions – a national nonprofit that provides fully trained service dogs free of charge to adults, children, veterans suffering from PTSD, and more.

For the second year in a row, Boston 25 News Meteorologist Jason Brewer is emceeing the event.

DogFest is free and open to the public, but donations are encouraged and can be made by registering online. People are encouraged to bring their dogs.

The event will feature service dog demonstrations, a human-dog costume contest, vendors, WooSox mascots, food, music and more.

After DogFest, Polar Park will transform for their second annual “Trick-or-Treat at Polar Park” from 2 to 7 p.m.

Along with trick-or-treating, there will be a pumpkin-decorating contest and a costume contest.

The free event also includes a showing of Pixar’s “Coco” on the videoboard at 4:30 p.m.
