Plows out in full force as biggest storm so far this season hits Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. – Snow continued to fall steadily in Worcester Tuesday morning.

“I started working at midnight and will probably go all day until late,” said Yony Escobar, a plow driver from Marlboro. “I like doing plowing so for me it’s exciting and it’s good now we got some work.”

Escobar said he started treating roads in and around Worcester around midnight Tuesday and anticipated a long day of work.

“We’re advising people to stay off the roads,” said Escobar. “It’s pretty bad out there.”

Boston 25 News crews said main roads were relatively clear Tuesday morning, but many side streets were covered with snow as plows worked to keep up with the steady snowfall.

“I’m from another country, and my country is summer all the time, so this weather for me is too much,” said Jessica Ramirez, of Worcester. “It’s difficult, everything, with the snow!”

Ramirez told Boston 25 News her family was headed south on vacation.

“We have a trip to Florida,” said Ramirez. “We’re running away from the snow!”
