Patrice Bergeron crosses 1000-point barrier, moves to 4th on Bruins all-time list

Add another line to Patrice Bergeron’s resume.

After assisting on a Brad Marchand goal during the 2nd period of Monday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Bergeron can now call himself a card-carrying member of the 1,000-point club.

Bergeron is the 94th player in NHL history to register 1000 points and only the 4th Bruin.

The other players on the Bruin’s Mount Rushmore of points are Ray Bourque (1,506), Johnny Bucyk (1,339), and Phil Espositio (1,012).

The Bruins shared a video on Twitter of the eight other active 1,000-point NHLers welcoming Bergeron to the club.

“It’s a huge accomplishment,” said Alexander Ovechkin. “It’s always fun and it’s always hard and it’s a battle to play against you. Keep it going.
