Parade day in Boston: Everything you need to know

BOSTON — The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in South Boston kicks off Sunday.

For the first time in three years, the parade will return to its full 3.5-mile route.

The parade kicks off at 1 p.m. It starts at the Broadway T station, marches down Broadway, loops around Medal of Honor Park, and ends at Andrew Square.

Before the parade, the Saint Patrick’s Day Road Race kicks off at 11 a.m. on West Sixth St. at the Girls Club.

On Sunday, liquor stores must close at 4 p.m. Bars must stop allowing people to come inside at 6:30 p.m., and they must stop serving drinks by 7 p.m.

Boston police are urging people to keep an eye on their drinks to prevent them from being spiked with dangerous drugs.

Boston police are reminding people that drugs such as Rohypnol, GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid) or Ketamine are odorless, colorless and tasteless, which makes them popular drugs to be used in drinks of unsuspecting victims.

They are encouraging people to seek help if they start to feel nauseous, light-headed, or strange in any way.
