Group sends Harmony Montgomery birthday cards to jailed father, Adam

BEDFORD, N.H. — An online group wanted to send a stark message to Harmony Montgomery’s father, Adam.

The group United to Find Harmony Montgomery asked supporters to “flood” Adam behind bars with cards for Harmony’s 8th birthday.

“This event is to flood Adam Montgomery with Birthday wishes from #HarmonyMontgomery and of course her number one wish is to come home,” the Facebook post said.

Adam has been locked up since Jan. 5 on charges unrelated to Harmony’s disappearance in late 2019. Manchester Police have said Adam and Harmony’s stepmother, Kayla, are not cooperating with the investigation.

One of the group’s organizers, Regina Carr, said her website provided supporters with a downloadable birthday card depicting Harmony.

“He’s still not talking,” Carr said. “We decided to do it for her birthday. The card was downloaded more than 200 times. I hope he gets them in stacks.”

Carr and half a dozen other supporters spent Tuesday evening handing out flyers outside the Market Basket in Bedford, N.H.

“People in Manchester were kind of losing interest, so we expanded to Bedford. We’re trying to introduce ourselves because we do physical searches as well. We want to make sure people know who we are when they see us wandering around,” Carr said.

“We’re just keeping her face and her name active so the community does not forget her,” Annie Vega said.

Vega has a unique connection to the Harmony Montgomery case: she is the new homeowner of 77 Gilford St. in Manchester, the last place Harmony was seen alive. Property records show Vega bought the home in May 2020. She had no idea her yard would become the focus of a criminal investigation; however, detectives never found any evidence of Harmony’s disappearance on her property, she said.

“I felt that I was somehow called to help or assist in some way because it now involved me,” Vega said. “We’re just keeping her name in the public’s eye, letting them know we’re still looking, we’re still active. Awareness is pretty much the key for today.”
