East Boston Neighborhood Health Center giving away COVID-19 tests

BOSTON — With Thanksgiving less than a week away, local health centers are hoping to get the word out that Thanksgiving gatherings and parties can still be super spreader events for COVID-19.

The East Boston Neighborhood Health Center is hoping to avoid a repeat of last year.

CEO Greg Wilmot says this initiative is important so people know if they have COVID before gathering so they can protect vulnerable members of their family.

The health center is giving away nearly 40,000 free COVID-19 tests.

Wilmot says in addition to the COVID tests, the health center is also helping families impacted by food insecurities.

Test kit distribution can be found here.
