Brawl breaks out during Patriots-Panthers practice session in Foxboro

FOXBORO, Mass. — A huge fight broke out among players as the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers took part in a joint practice session in Foxboro on Tuesday.

Video shared by Ethan Hurwitz, who covers New England for Patriots Country, showed a massive swarm of players pushing and shoving each other on the practice field behind Gillette Stadium.

In the video, a fan could be heard yelling, “Go Patriots! Beat ‘em up, beat ‘em up!”

The Panthers traveled to Massachusetts this week to train with the Patriots before the two sides square off in Week 2 of the NFL preseason on Friday night inside Gillette.

Patriots wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson caught a pass from Mac Jones during the practice and ended up in the Panthers bench area, Patriots writer Phil Perry reported. A Carolina coach then apparently pushed Wilkerson, prompting the skirmish.

“Several Panthers got on Wilkerson right away and all hell broke loose,” Perry said.

The players involved in the brawl were kicked off the practice field, according to Patriots Country.

New England lost their opening preseason game to the New York Giants last week, 23-21.
