The Big E fair begins Friday. Here are the musical stars performing this year

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Big E Fair in Springfield begins Friday and a popular band with Massachusetts roots will kick off a star-studded lineup of performers slated to take the stage over the next two weeks.

Fairgoers will once again be able to indulge in array of food and beverage choices while taking in live music on three different stages through Oct. 2. Visitors are encouraged to align their trip with The Big E’s special and state days.

The Dropkick Murphys will perform Friday night inside The Big E Arena. Tickets are on sale now. Other upcoming headliners include Unforgettable Fire, Brantley Gilbert, Nelly, Sublime with Rome, Bring Me The Horizon, Chase Rice and Jimmie Allen, Happy Together, and Lynrd Skynrd.

A number of other music stars will perform on the Court of Honor Stage and The E Stage.

There are number of rides available on the grounds, including a climate-controlled gondola on a 150-foot “Sky-High Super Wheel.”

Children under the age of five can get into the fair for free. Tickets are available online.

The Big E is one of the largest fairs in North America.
