AAA: Mass. gas prices up 54 cents in one week, hitting all-time high

Gas prices in Massachusetts hit an all-time high Monday.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in Massachusetts hit $4.16 –the highest average ever in the state.

Monday’s average is up 54 cents over the last week and 72 cents from a month ago.

Massachusetts is among the most expensive 15 states for gasoline.

The national average price for a gallon of gas is $4.06.

Crude oil prices also hit a 13-year high Sunday into Monday, briefly touching $139 a barrel before settling around $123 a barrel.
